Monday afternoon

In the afternoon we did PE and had our first day of gymnastics. We did a warm up where we jog and then Mrs Wren called out a number and we all had to get on a mat and do a balance with that person or more. Then we had a go at a routine and tried out new moves. We finished the lesson with the people that are doing the gymnastics competition that were doing the hard routine.

We have now gone to our new computing lesson we are making a maths calculation PowerPoint to help with your maths. It was very very hard to work out how to get the numbers pop up individually. We also had to work out how to lay it out it was very hard for our first lesson but we enjoyed it very much.

Youths speaks competition practice!

Over the last couple of weeks, Y6 have been practicing and preparing our speeches for this years youth speaks competition. This event help us get our confidence up on public speaking! Mrs Wren explained that we needed to base our speech on space and lots of us chose very interesting subjects. On Wednesday we said our speeches to a panel of judges and they decided which team would go to the proper youths speaks competition. Everyone did really well but there was one U6 winning team.

House group battle of the bands!

Everyone eagerly entered Willow Class this morning with only half an hour left of the first round of house battle of the bands. It was a very close competition with the first two victorious houses being Mars and Mercury! Top scorers for each house were awarded success stamps and we have recorded winning houses on our maths display. The new battle started at lunchtime and will run until next Friday! Happy rocking 👩🏻‍🎤👨🏻‍🎤🎸✖️➗

As well as this, children who currently hold the titles of ‘Rock Legend’ or ‘Rock Hero’ were given new badges today which they can wear on their school uniform. Well done to all of them.

Safer Internet Day 2019

We started Tuesday morning with an assembly about this year’s Safer Internet Day. Mrs Chapman led the assembly with the support of the Y6 E-safety cadets who talked us through lots of scenarios about keeping us safe online. The key message this year is Our internet, Our Choice. We learnt that this means we should always seek permission before sharing anything online. We will be following this up with activities in tomorrow’s PSHE lesson. More information for parents can be found here:

There are lots of resources to use at home with your children – activities as well as discussion starters.

Space Art!

Today we tried to make our foreground of our space art. Some of us did a rocket and some of us did planets.I did a rocket and some planets. First of all we drew the outlines with pencils then coloured them in with chalk. To make this look effective we smudged them. They all look very good and all of them are different.
