Our morning in Year 6…

First thing this morning we discussed the expectations and responsibilities that we will have in Year 6. Following that, we made some floor plans for the classroom layout. We could think about how the tables might be arranged, whether we have a carpet space and who we learn best with. Next we learnt how to use seesaw and sent videos home to our parents about what we are looking forward to in Willow Class. Then we played a kahoot quiz all about maths! We discovered that we were very good at Roman numerals but there is room for improvement in other areas of maths! After that, we had to write a letter to Miss Duffy about ourselves, our good qualities and likes/dislikes. Finally we created a poster all about us – these will be used for a display in September.

We all had a very busy and enjoyable moving on morning. Information for parents should come home in a pack today.

Thursday’s News

An action packed day that’s not over yet! All the groups doing different things this morning. IE, fencing, sensory trail and now all back together for team challenges – racing in pedal boats and zorbing.

Edie says, ” it’s so much fun.  I’m sitting on the deck waiting to zorb!” 😎

” The pedal boats were exhilarating. It was hard to pedal and steer – especially steering,” said Poppy. 😂

“Zorbing was so fun but hard to stand up,” said Evie 😜

Wednesday on Residential

No early risers this morning! After a good breakfast, off to abseil and climb. Great excitement as after spending a long time telling us he couldn’t do it, Spencer  whizzed to the top and was so proud of himself. I think I had a tear in my eye too! Everyone really enjoyed it. Then after lunch, the sensory trail awaited. A little wet but not too muddy! On to tea now and then egg protector tonight.

We’re all settled in now and getting into the swing of things! Kayaking and stand up paddle boarding this morning! Great fun. A few of us actually managed to stay dry! A mixture of rocket launch and team games this afternoon. All now tucking into tea before run around quiz tonight.
